The publication series atlas of databodies is edited by Marlene Bart and Johannes Breuer. The anthology brings together contributions from art, design, and recent research on digital body images and the techniques of their production.

Team

Dr. Marlene Bart is a visual artist and completed her doctorate at the Bauhaus University Weimar on the subject of "The artist's book as a multimedia encyclopaedia". In her artistic research and work, she focuses on the methodological connections between art and science.

Dr. Johannes Breuer studied design and medicine in Münster and Berlin and completed his PhD (with distinction) on the subject of digital pain assessment at the Bauhaus University Weimar. He works, teaches and researches in the field of medical design with a focus on user interface design, visualization of body data as well as participation and co-design methods. 

Cecilia Falkman is a writer and visual artist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Lund University in Sweden and is currently studying European Literature at Humboldt University in Berlin. Her studies have focused on literature, architecture, and languages, and she has also researched these topics at Korea University, the University of Helsinki and Aarhus University.

Alex Leo
Freier

Alex Leo Freier is a doctoral candidate at the Institute for Cultural Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and researches aesthetics and epistemology. His dissertation project examines the theory of the dream image in Walter Benjamin and Sigmund Freud.

Dr. Swantje Martach is a philosopher & cultural scholar. She completed her PhD in Barcelona & London (LCF), and initiated her post-doc at the Institute for Aesthetics at University of Presov, Slovakia, speculating unseen beauties. She teaches at the Academy for Fashion & Design Wiesbaden. Her research topics are speculative realisms, fashion, fat, mothering, and medial practices.

Julia Rückeis works in the fields of architecture, photography and graphics. After working in several architecture firms, including raumlaborberlin and currently at HeinleWischer, her focus is on interior design and scenography projects.
